Ms. Annie Lee Cooper was born September 5, 1948, in Sampson County, NC. Annie was the oldest of ten children born to the late Ammie Lee Cooper and Letha Bennett Cooper. Annie departed this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Southwood Nursing Home, Clinton, NC. Annie graduated from Charles E. Perry High School, Roseboro, with the class of 1966. She joined Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was an active member until her health declined. During her time as an active church member, you would often hear her say, "Well It's So" on Sunday mornings throughout the church. She was a faithful Sunday School member and a member of the Daughters of Zion ministry. Annie was employed in the grocery industry for several years, as well as worked at Lundy Packing Company, prior to her disability. Annie leaves to cherish her memories of four sisters; Grace Cooper, Helen Cooper, Essie McNeill (John), of Clinton, NC, and Jannie Sykes, Benson, NC. Two brothers, James F. Cooper of Clinton, NC, and Dennis Cooper of Raleigh, NC. One aunt, Minnie Bennett Eason (Paul)of Dunn, NC, and a host of nieces and nephews. Annie was preceded in death by two brothers, Julian D. Cooper, and Terry K. Cooper, and one sister, Mary I. Raynor.
