Annie Marie Holder

Annie Marie Holder was born August 31, 1945, in Johnston County, NC to the union of the late John Henry Holder and Hannah Sanders Holder. Annie gained her wings on Monday, February 17, 2025.

Annie accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and attended Johnston Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Clayton, North Carolina.

During much of her adult life, Annie was a resident at the Monarch Group Home in Four Oaks, North Carolina. Annie was always cheerful and had the most beautiful smile (with dimples). Annie was employed with Johnston County Industries, Smithfield, NC, and she enjoyed working until her health declined. Annie enjoyed doing chores and loved to ride out in the community to her favorite places and eating out with her group home peers and staff. Annie also liked to stay home and watch television in her favorite recliner and everyone knew that this was “Annie’s” chair. 

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommie D. Sanders, Willie J. Holder, Johnnie B. Holder, Sherlock Holder and Fairlow (Peter) Holder.

Annie leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Ethel Lee Puckett and Elder Elsie Holder, both of Clayton, North Carolina, Sofronia Holder Steadman of Deptford, New Jersey, Pastor Mary Auguste (Carlyle) of Brooklyn, New York, and one brother, Bert A. Holder (Ossie) of Buffalo, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
