Annie ''Sweetie' Victoria Manning Moore

November 5, 1925 — May 17, 2021

Annie V. Manning Moore, the daughter of the late Joseph Manning and Floral Lee Manning of Fayetteville, NC, was born on November 5, 1925. She departed this earthly life on May 17, 2021, peacefully at her home in Smithfield, NC.
Annie, known as "Sweetie or Sweets" attended Johnston County Public Schools and later worked at K.R. Edwards Tobacco Company.
In her younger years, Sweetie decided to adventure and move to the big city of New York. She lived in New York for many years until she returned to North Carolina and attended the Business College of Home Economics in Raleigh, NC where she received a degree as a seamstress. Sweetie worked at Princeton Manufacturing Company for twelve years until she retired.
Annie was a faithful member at Shiloh Christian Church under the leadership of its founder, Bishop F. J. Matthews. She was one of the charter members and served in many capacities in the church to include the Choir and Treasurer of many organizations in Shiloh until her health declined.
Annie also served on the Board as a lifetime member for over 30 years of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 270. Some of the positions she held include Chaplain, Treasurer, and Sergeant-at-Arms.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her nieces, Rose (Diamond) Nash of Rochester, New York, and Carolyn Terry of Selma, NC, both of whom were dear to her heart. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do, You must not tie yourself to me with too many tears, but be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess how much you've given me in happiness.
Thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear, All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a 'Welcome Home
