Antonio Devone Poston

Antonio Devone "Tony" Poston was born August 20, 1975, to Larry Poston, Sr., and Beulah Poston in Smithfield, NC. He departed this life on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at home. Tony was a stellar athlete who excelled in baseball during high school and college. He majored in Liberal Arts at Barton College in Wilson, NC, graduating in 1997. Tony, or T-Rock as he was known by his friends, became an educator and football coach at Dunn Middle School earning "Teacher of the Year" during the first year of his profession. Tony went on to continue his teaching career at Four Oaks Middle School as well as Getting Ready, a program designed to support individuals struggling with mental illness in Wilson, NC. Tony will be remembered for his love of sports, physical fitness, and reading. Family members he cherished and loved, but preceded him in death are his Paternal Grandmother, Helen Poston; Maternal Grandmother, Carnelia Robinson; Maternal Grandfather, John Cole, Sr.; Aunt, Enda Ward; Uncle, Leslie McDougal; and Uncle, Jimmy Coefield. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Larry, Sr. and Beulah Poston of Four Oaks, NC; his brother, Larry, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; his grandfather, Charles Poston, Sr. of Four Oaks, NC; Aunts and Uncles, Ernestine Cole, Bentonville, NC; Thelma Oates and Elena Betts, both of Newton Grove, NC; Leona Atkinson, Neptune, NJ; Gwendolyn Artis (Ernest Sr.), Dunn, NC; Thell Robinson, Milford, KS; Charles Poston, Jr. (Garnette), Raleigh, NC; Carolyn McDougal, Dunn, NC; Dennis Poston (Debra), Danny Poston, all of Four Oaks, NC; and Pamela Coefield, Lakewood, NJ; along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.
