Billy Ray Mcdougald

Mr. Billy Ray McDougald Sr. was born on March 26,
1953, to the late Troy and Pocahontas (Sutton) McDougald in
Johnston County. He departed this life on August 5, 2014 at the
Harold and Muriel Block Resident in Bronx, NY.
Billy received his education in the Johnston County
School System where he graduated from North Johnston High
School in 1971. After graduation he worked at K.R. Edwards Tobacco Company and Gerald Incorporated in Smithfield, NC. In the early 1980s, Bill moved to New York with his brother Keith McDougald where he worked as a Brick Mason. Bill
loved to listen and play music and he often Djayed different events and our family reunions where he was known as THE ICEMAN.


Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers:
Troy McDougald and Donald McDougald; one sister Neva
McDougald; and one son Billy Ray McDougald, Jr.
Bill leaves to cherish his memories; two daughters: D Genera (Kermit) Corprew of Princeton, NC and Valeria Strickland of Kenly, NC;
nine grandchildren: Tavares, Kwame,
Keyonna, Kameron, Shada, Jamar, Ashanlie and Diamond;
three great-grandchildren: Neâvon, Kaleb and Jayden; four
sisters: Ethel (Norman) Sims of Louisburg, NC, Margaret
(John) Lucas of Raleigh, NC, Mattie (Lester) Lewis of Selma,
NC, Neicole Gear McDougald of Wilson, NC; three brothers:
James (Esther) McDougald of Kenly, NC, Keith (Evelyn)
McDougald of Bronx, NY and Johnny McDougald of Kenly,
NC; one sister-in-law: Ruby McDougald of Bronx, NY; one brother-in-law: Donnell Holder of Kenly, NC; Nineteen nieces and nephews, twenty-five great nieces and nephews and a host
of other relatives and friends.
