Bruce Bernard Frierson was born on April 15, 1956
in Smithfield, NC to Janie Spencer Frierson and the
late Ceasar B. Frierson, Sr. He transitioned on June 30,
2020 to the other side.
He graduated from Smithfield-Selma High School in
1975. He attended Winston-Salem State University
where he became a member of the Alpha Phi Omega
Fraternity. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from
Shaw University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Religion and Philosophy in January 2009.
He was employed by Cutter-Miles-Bayer for 16
years.
He joined Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early
age. Later, he joined New Generation Christian Church
in Smithfield, NC. He was the visionary of the Seniors
on the Move Ministry and served as its leader until his
health began to fail.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ceasar B.
Frierson, Sr. and his sisters, Diane Hamilton and
Roberta Frierson.
He is survived by his mother, Janie Frierson of
Smithfield, NC; his brothers, Ceasar Frierson of
Garner, NC, Willie Frierson (Marlene) of Cantonville,
MD, and Amos Smith (Josephine) of Atlanta, GA; his
sisters, Gail Thorpe and Pam Moore and the love of
his life, Carolyn Frierson of Clayton, NC and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
