Carolyn Delois Davis

November 7, 1960 — August 28, 2013

Carolyn departed peacefully at SECU HOSPICE HOUSE in Smithfield, NC on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.

Carol spent most of her life in Selma. She was born to Johnnie Pearl Raiford and the late William Barnes. Carolyn attended Smithfield-Selma High School, and was a graduate of the "Class of 1979". She also attended and graduated from Johnston Community College. She had two children, Robert and Daniel, and she loved her boys with all her heart.

Carol was a very sociable, funny, and lovable woman. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Deliverance in Smithfield, NC, under Dr. Christine Allen. She spent most of her working years at Natvar in Clayton, NC and Raychem Tyco in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Ms. Carolyn Delois Davis was one of the bravest and most outspoken women. She was very strong, brave, kind hearted and courageous. She never gave up on herself throughout her battle as she became ill.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her Father Williams Barnes.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her mother, Johnnie Pearl Raiford; sons, Daniel and Robert both of the home; granddaughter, Payton Whitley; sisters, Sherri Pratt, Bridget Barnes, and Nicole Fleming; special aunts, Bertha Davis, Jean Hagans, and her husband Kenneth, Barbara Sherard and husband Frank; and a host of other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. And last but not least, a group of caring, devoted, and loving friends that stayed by her side until the end!
