Charles Grimes

Mr. Charles W. Grimes, 80 of Princeton NC passed away on Friday July 12, 2013 at Johnston Health Center in Smithfield NC. Mr. Grimes was born on February9, 1924 in Culpeper, Virginia to the late Osbourne and Lucy Coleman Grimes.
Mr. Grimes served in the Arm and was employed with the railroad. He was also a retired barber in Washington, DC. Mr. Charlie attended Pineville Chapel Church in Clayton, NC regularly under Elder Charles Sykes watch care. Charles was preceded in death by his twin brother, Clarence C. Grimes, his sister, Hattie M. Grimes Welch, and his mother-in-law, Joyce Ann Atkinson.
He leaves precious memories with his wife, Myra Atkinson Grimes of the home; three step-sons, Ron Atkinson of the home, Chico Atkinson of Goldsboro, NC, and Warren Atkinson of the home; seven step-grandchildren; one brother Robert Grimes of Culpeper, VA; sister-in-law Barbara Grimes of Culpeper, VA: a special cousin, Hortense B. Beck Hinton of Culpeper, VA; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday July 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Stephens in Princeton, NC.
