Clinton Joseph Sanders was born in Johnston County NC on June 25, 1932, to the late Gartha Sanders and the late Mattie Nixon Sanders. On Thursday, December 17, 2020, Brother Clinton Joseph Sanders took his burdens to the Lord after suffering failing health for the past several years. He was a resident at the Brookdale Nursing Facility. Clinton was best known as "Bush" by family and close friends.
Clinton received his G.E.D. completing his education in the early 1970s leading to a managerial position at Pratt and Whitney manufacturing Aircraft engine parts.
Bush was a hardworking man. He worked two full-time jobs for many years before finally settling at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft where he worked for over thirty years. (Pratt is located in North Haven, CT.) Clinton moved to Connecticut in the mid-1950s and resided there until he returned to North Carolina in 1992.
Clinton was predeceased by his parents, Gartha and Mattie Nixon Sanders; his son, Kenny Sanders; three brothers, Jack, Herman and Delester Sanders (Pearl living), two sisters Lillie McDonald (Mack also deceased) formerly of Four Oaks, NC and Julia M. Fryer (Ethan deceased) formerly of Clinton, NC.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Larry Sanders, Gregory Sanders, and Derrick Sanders all of Connecticut; three daughters, Patricia Sanders, Elaine (Mac) Haynes, and Theresa Sanders all of Connecticut; 29 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Sims (Ruth) of Smithfield, NC Doris Davis (Ron) and Gertie Stevens of Clinton, NC; a surrogate sister, Daisy M. Sanders, Four Oaks, NC, a brother Claude D. Sanders (Sonny Boy) (Cassie deceased) of Hopkinsville, Ky and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
