Corsandra Ann Byrd Roberson was born January 7th 1952 to Herbert McKinley Creech
and the late Lottie Blair Byrd. She entered into eternal rest November 7th 2009 at
Washington Adventist Hospital, Tacoma Park, Maryland. Corsandra was a graduate of Smithfield Selma Senior High School Class of 1972, Smithfield, North Carolina. During her early years she joined Lily Of The Valley Disciples Church, Smithfield, NC, where she was very active in Sunday school and was a member of the Gospel Choir under the direction of Mother Lessie McClain.
Corsandra served in the US Army from 1973 to 1985 as a Communications Specialist, where she met her Life Partner of 29 years, William Clark Roberson, whom she affectionately called 'Butch'. To this union one son was born, her 'Snooky' William McKinley Roberson. Corsandra was employed with Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Civilian Personnel Advisory Center for over 15 years; she was a very dedicated employee in which her glowing smile and helpful personality affected the lives of many.
Later in life she joined Victory Christian Church International, Gaithersburg, MD under the leadership of Pastors Dwayne and Kitt Brewington. She served faithfully in the church Nursery and Cleaning Team.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband William C. Roberson, their only son William McKinley Roberson, Laurel, MD, a stepdaughter Tennille Walker (Dwayne), Raleigh, NC; her father Herbert McKinley Creech; stepmother Della Creech, Smithfield, NC; Four Brothers, Aldostin Byrd (Rose), Smithfield, NC; Herbert McKinley Byrd (Thomasina) Selma, NC; Thurman McClamb (Sandra), St Mary, GA; James Guest, Smithfield, NC; Five Sisters; Dorothy J. Moore, Hyattsville, MD; Hortense Gardner (Herbert), Wilson, NC; Rita Romero, Philadelphia, PA; Beverly B. Dublin, Smithfield, NC; Lula J. Byrd, Wilson, NC; one uncle, Howard Creech, Clayton, NC; one aunt Ella C. Peete, Washington, DC; a devoted family friend Brittany E. Hall; numerous nieces/ nephews and a host of other relatives, friends, and colleagues.
Funeral will be Friday November 13,2009 at 11 am at Victory Christan Church International in Gathersburg, MD. Pastor Dwayne Brewington. Burial will be on Sunday November 15,2009 at 1pm at Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma,NC. A Viewing will be on Saturday November 14, 2009 from 3pm till 8pm at Sanders Funeral Home in Smithfield NC, Family will be receving friends at the funeral home on Saturday November 14,2009 at 5pm.
