A time to be born: Dallas Lejean Pittman was born April 20, 1944 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina to the late James Lee Pittman Sr. and Eleanor Ford Pittman.
A time to live: Dallas Lejean Pittman received his basic education in Clayton, North Carolina. Dallas worked as a brick mason for 15 years and also worked for the city of Raleigh in Parks and Recreation. Dallas was a faithful member of Grace AME Zion Church until his health declined. Dallas loved to play chess/checkers and dominoes. He loved to fish and was a faithful fan of those Duke blue devils!
A time to leave: On Wednesday August 30 at the home, Dallas completed his earthly journey and began a more beautiful walk with the lord. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Lee Pittman Jr and Frank Pittman; and sister, Earleane Pittman Jackson.
A time to mourn: Left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Barbara M. Pittman of the home; two daughters, Gloria Green of Raleigh, NC and Delores Green of Wendell, NC; one stepson, Clarence L. Brown of Raleigh, NC; one stepdaughter, Barbara M. Burks of the home; two brothers, George T. Pittman of Garner, NC and Clarence Pittman of Clayton, NC; one sister-in- law, Cassandra Pittman; five god-daughters, Geraldine F. Mckenney of Knightdale, NC, Barbara Ann Rodman of Fayetteville, NC, Patricia Bryant of Raleigh NC, Margarita Thomas of Raleigh NC, and Altene Horton of Raleigh NC; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two special granddaughters, Brittany T.L. Burks and Erin Thompson; a special niece, Earlene Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
