Daniel Eric Cole was born November 12, 1980 at Johnston Memorial hospital in Smithfield to Beverly Cole Price. He lived with his mom, step dad Alan, two sisters Ashley and Brittany, and his step sister Kelly. Later in life he lived some with his grandparents Norvelle (Bunk), and Alice Cole to help them. He was a member of Powhatan church were he sang in the youth choir. He graduated from Web high school in Oxford were he also sang in a youth choir. Daniel loved to read and write short stories. He loved to listen to music. He also loved doing word and number puzzles. He also enjoyed playing playstation with his sisters. He loved to sit and watch movies with his mother. He also enjoyed going off with his friends. He loved just spending time with the people he loved! He worked at Walmart and then Harris Teeter as a cashier.
Throughout his life he won several awards. He went to Northern Granville middle school were he won the selected member of the National Junior Honor Society award. While in high school he wrote for a paper called Campus Tracks. He received many awards for his writing some of which include: the Campus Tracks Correspondent of the year on 1996. He won the Dan C. Rice award two years running in (96-97) and then in (97-98). He also won the Certificate of Appreciation as Assistant Editor in (1996-1997). Then he went on to win The North Carolina Scholastic Media Association Award twice in 1997 and 1999! He passed away on May 29, 2023 at home. He was a very talented person who was loved by many and will be misssed!
