Danny Raye Carpenter was born to the late Orice and
Mozelle Carpenter on May 10, 1949 in Johnston County, NC. He
went home to be with the LORD on February 5, 2016.
Danny was educated in the Johnston County School System..
With the desire to continue his education, he went on to truck driving
school at Johnston Community College. Danny Raye, left NC at an
early age to join his brother in Brooklyn, NY.
In 1972, Danny married Jean Bryant and from this union,
they were blessed with three children: Daniel, LaToya and Jeremy.
Danny spent 31 years of his life in Jersey City, NJ. During this time, he
spent several years working for the Board of Education. Even though,
he was miles away from "Fammie," he never met a stranger. He was a
father figure to many and a friend to all. Danny Raye was one who
loved his "Fammie". In his presence, you would always get a good
laugh and a good meal. He had a gift of comedy, it wasn't what he
said but how he said it. Danny had a laugh that would steal the show.
In 2009, Danny moved back to NC, so he could be closer to
his "Fammie". He went on to join White Oak Hill Missionary Baptist
Church and was a willing worker for the LORD. One of his proudest
moments was June 2015, when he hosted his Family Reunion. The
joy he felt seeing all those in attendance was everlasting.
Danny leaves to cherish his golden memories: wife, Jean
Carpenter; two sons: Daniel of Wilson Mills, NC and Jeremy of
Durham, NC; one daughter, LaToya of Middlesex, NC;
