Darlene Patterson

Often in life one meets someone who has great impact upon
one's life. Darlene Patterson was truly one of a kind and she
was loved and cherished by all who met her. Darlene was born
on July 30, 1962 to Mary Noble Swan and the late
Ervin Patterson. She slept peacefully away on May 23, 2018 at
the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.
Darlene was a woman of great perseverance. She was a woman
who believed that it was not over until God said so. She praised
God for allowing her to triumph against all odds. One could
truly say that Darlene did not look like what she had been
through and she was indeed a fashionista, who looked beautiful
from the inside out.
Darlene is survived by five sons and four daughters: Cedric
Patterson (Lnae), Nyesha Patterson, Gregory Obey, Antwon
Obey (Caprice), Audia Obey, Chavis Whitley, Jimmy Raiford,
Latoya O'Neal, and Ashley O'Neal; her siblings, Beverly
White (Edward), Ervin Patterson, Stephanie Patterson, and
Nichelle Patterson; 34 grandchildren and a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also survived by
her very dear friend, Tonya Padgett-Williams.
