Delia Mae Vann Watson

May 17, 1936 — April 5, 2018

Ms. Delia Watson, fondly called Dee, was born May 17, 1937 in Sampson County. She was the daughter of the late Estelle Dublin (Melvin) and Hosie Boykins. She departed this earthly realm on April 5, 2018. In 1974, Delia became a member of Smithfield Church of God of Prophecy (which later became Greater Vision Worship Center) and faithfully served as a dedicated usher and member. She cleaned the church every week along with her husband until her health declined. She later became a Mother and continued to serve faithfully. She loved everyone and judged no one!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Evorn Watson, one daughter, Ellen Gales, one son, Roy Lee Watson, Sr. (Jack) and two great grandchildren, Jacqualyn and Jameel Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Annie Lee (George) and Robin Watson of Smithfield, NC; three sisters, Mary Sanders (Jessie Earl), Emma Bojang, and Annie Price, all of Smithfield, NC; one sister-in-law, Thelma Hunter of Smithfield, NC; one brother-in-law, James Sanders, Sr.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Delia had a special relationship with her Aunt Lula Marie Rouse whom she was raised with as sisters.
The Master Called
I'm sorry I had to leave you, my loved ones, oh so dear,
But you see the Master called me, His voice was very clear.
I had made my reservation, a Heaven bound ticket for one,
And I knew that He would call me when He felt my work was done.
I know that your hearts are heavy, but when the Master called me,
I knew that I could not stay.
Yes, I am sorry I had to leave you, my loved ones, oh so dear.
But you see the Master called me, and now I'm resting here
Yes, I have crossed on over to glory, and to you I say
Just stay in the hands of Jesus, and we'll meet again someday.
