TO KNOW HER IS TO LOVE HER
Truth is that Lois was my dad's niece, but raised more
like a sister and for that my family called her aunt
Lois Ann. I mean who can sit with my dad and have a
yelling conversation that only the two of them could
understand and will not leave it alone until she has
the last word? Who will come to the family gatherings
when asked to bring one dish and bring an entire
meal? Who else will cook the picnic ham sweet with
pineapples that my girls would make sure they get first
and take it home for themselves? Who else will cut the
greens so fine, cook and seasoned to perfection, and
had the nerve to bring it to my dad's house so we could
fuss over them? Only Lois Ann. When speaking to her,
address her correctly, it's not "hey," it's "hi". She was a
woman to be reckoned with, bold, and tell like it is, but
do not get me wrong, her contagious smile and loud
laughter would leave a print in your heart. Lois never
met a stranger and if you did not know them by the
time, she finished going down their entire family line,
you are going to know them willingly or unwillingly.
Who knew 5/30/2021 would be our last car ride
together, our last conversation and laugh? You shared
so much insight of our family with me of which I was
not even aware. Lois Ann knew every family member,
their birthday, deaths, where they lived, and marriages and
had every picture for backup. You left us the day before
your birthday. Lisa, True, Knowledge & Kita gave you
the best birthday celebration; all your grandchildren,
sisters, nieces, and nephews came home. There was
so much food, music, dancing, and laughing. Just the
way you would have liked it, surrounded by all your
children and family. You would have been so proud.
Your memories, laughter, and love will forever live in
our hearts. As you would always say before we hang
up; "later."
Love,
Treva
