Mr. Deshoun "Shoun" Montorryl Rodgers was born on January 11, 1965 in Goldsboro N.C the youngest of three children to Mr. Jarvis Samuel Rodgers and Glenda Haley Rodgers in Smithfield, North Carolina. Shoun joined his family church Juniper Grove Disciples at an early age. Shoun graduated from Smithfield Selma High in 1983 where he excelled in his studies as well as on the football field, receiving many football honors during his high school years. Shoun continued his studies at Elon University and East Carolina University before joining the Military and serving in the United States Army.
After traveling the world during his time in the Military and his honorable discharge, Shoun returned home to his family in North Carolina. Shoun spent many years working in a career he loved and learned from his uncle Jeffrey Rodgers as an Audio-Visual Engineer. After living for several years back in North Carolina, Shoun relocated to Los Angeles where he lived out his final days.
Shoun was very talented and loved to work with his hands. A "Jack of all Trades", he spent a lot time landscaping, building, and cooking great meals. Shoun was a friend to many and always willing to help those he loved.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jarvis Samuel Rodgers; his Grandparents, Joseph and Pearl Haley and Gladys Rodgers.
He is survived by his four daughters, Cassandra (Sandy) Rodgers McFadden (Khalil) of Durham N.C.; Sade Rodgers Lyons (Demarcus), of Durham N.C.; Danielle A. Rodgers and Gabriella D. Rodgers of Los Angeles, CA; one grandson, Caden McFadden; a Special friend; Ms. Cynthia ''Cindy'' Sullivan. Of Selma, NC. His mother, Glenda Rodgers of Durham N.C.; Brother, Nelson Rodgers of Atlanta, GA; Sister, Letitia "Tot" Williams (Tyrone) of Four Oaks N.C.; Sister, Jackie Lassiter (Harold) of Four Oaks N.C.; Special Nieces and Nephews, Natalie Sanders of Smithfield, N.C., Jasmine Holder and Jarvis Rodgers of Durham N.C., Dalton Williams of Four Oaks, N.C.; Harold "Packy Wack" Lassiter (Lenora) of Four Oaks, N.C.; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
