Mrs. Dorothy Williams, 87, died on Monday, February 10, 2014 at her home in Clayton, NC
Dorothy Lipscomb Williams was born May 7, 1926 to the late Moses Lipscomb and Juanita Judd Lipscomb. She departed this life on February 10, 2014.
Dorothy graduated from William Mason Cooper High School. She jointed Mount Vernon Christian Church at an early age. Where she was a active member until her declining health. She served as a member of Usher Board, Sunday School Teacher, Missionary and Willing Worker Club.
She was married to the late David J. Williams and to this union were two children. She was preceded in death by her husband David, and daughter, Mary Williams Actkinson.
She became an entrepreneur as a young adult as the owner and operator of Williams Plant Center and Williams Mobile Home Park beginning in 1968.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter: Helen Williams Clark (Roy) Clayton, NC; five grandchildren: David Actkinson Sr. of Raleigh, NC, Teineshia A. Samuels (Weston) of Clayton, NC, Neidra Patterson of Clayton, NC, Jasmin Singletary of Clayton, NC and Christian Clark of Clayton, NC; three sisters: Mattie Moore (Anthony) of Raleigh, NC, Mary Helen Dodd of Clayton, NC and Lenora Southerland of Atlanta, GA; three brothers: Marvin Lipscomb (Luella) of Fayetteville, NC, Moses Lipscomb, Jr of Maryland, and Carlee Lipscomb of Washington, DC; eleven great grandchildren: Devyn, David Jr, Destiny, Lori'onna, Mykeal, Drevonne, Doriyan, David, Daniya, D'Maryus and Deitrick. And a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
