Dwight Bernard Bynum, affectionately known as "Boe"
was born in Johnston County on September 15, 1966 to the
parentage of the late Robert Bynum and Alice Dunston
Bynum. He was raised by his Grandparents, Addie Bynum
and the late Earnest Bynum, Sr. He departed this earthly life at
his home on Sunday, May 17, 2015.
Dwight was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather,
son, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend who was zealous,
enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was outgoing and
the life of the crowd. Dwight was loved and will be missed
dearly but always remembered in the hearts of those who knew
and loved him. He would want his grandchildren to remember
things he tried to instill in them, to be strong, independent, honest and
hardworking.
Dwight was a member of the Bryant Chapel AME Zion
Church where he served on the Usher Board. Dwight was
educated in the Johnston County Public Schools and attended
Job Corps. He was employed many years at KFC, Golden
Corral, Cowells Cleaners as well as other cleaners in the
Raleigh area. He always took pride in his work. He was a
great provider and planner.
Precious memories are cherished by his lovely wife of six
years, Gwenevere Bynum of the home; his daughter, Latasha
Turner, Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Javonta Turner,
Alysia Kintchen, and Aliah Turner, Raleigh, NC; Grandmother
(Mama), Addie Bynum, Smithfield, NC; four step children,
Takara Simmons, Teirra Hodges, Mekayla Hodges, and
Davyon Moore, six sisters, Joe Ann Mitchell, Shirley
Williams, Phyllis Bynum, Christine Sutton, Gwendolyn
Bynum and Kimberly Bynum, two brothers, Earl Bynum and
LeRoy Vines, mother-in-law, Madeline Hodges Polite, nieces,
