Elbert Rudel Aiken

August 21, 1964 — August 12, 2022

Elbert Rudel Aiken affectionately called "Rudy" of Lincolnville, S.C., son of the late Edward and Stella Aiken was called home to glory at the age of 57 on August 12, 2022, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Rudy grew up in Lincolnville, South Carolina. Rudy received his education in the Charleston County schools and graduated in1983. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly, receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of sergeant after his enlistment. He began his spiritual development as a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church at an early age. He continued his Christian journey throughout the community spreading love. Rudy was a jack-of-all-trades and could do anything that he put his hands and mind to. He watched his father in his youth and taught himself the skill of brick masonry. He was most proud of his accomplishment and pridefully followed in his father's footsteps. Rudy mastered many things such as masonry and auto mechanic services just to name a few. There was no task, big or small, that he did not take on and conquer. He was a very kind-hearted vibrant person. Everyone misdescribed him to be "a man with a heart of gold". He would give you his very last without a second thought. Rudy loved his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Regardless of the circumstance, he was able to draw on boundless energy to push through, always finding the positive in every situation. This was one of his greatest attributes. Nobody can be perfect, but he was truly the perfect version of himself. He was truly a good guy; despite what life brought his way. His kindness and spirit will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. To say Rudy was loved would be an understatement. He will truly be missed. He leaves to mourn 2 sons, Rudy Aiken II and RuAndre Saunders, four siblings, Rosalee Myers, Rochelle Greene, Tyrone Aiken (late Deborah), and Lorain Huger (Harold), two grandchildren (Aiden & Khalise Aiken), and a host of relatives and friends.
