It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Eugene Benton,
who departed this world on June 6, 2023. He was 89 years old.
Eugene Benton was born on October 13, 1933, to the late Sam Anderson and Luvenia
Benton. Eugene was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather
grandfather, and friend. He was deeply devoted to his family and brought joy and
wisdom to all who knew him.
Eugene Benton led a fulfilling and accomplished life. He worked as a custodian for 40
years, displaying exceptional dedication and expertise in his field. He was highly
regarded by his colleagues and made a lasting impact on those he worked with.
Outside of Eugene’s professional life, Eugene Benton was an outspoken and friendly
person to all he met; finding solace and happiness in every new encounter. He also had
an appreciation for nature and loved spending time outdoors.
Above all, Eugene Benton cherished his family. He was a pillar of strength and a source
of unconditional love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. His
wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support will be greatly missed. Eugene leaves
behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will forever inspire those who
knew him.
In addition to his immediate family, Eugene Benton is survived by children, Larry
Walker, Anthony Benton, Valerie Barnes, Aretha Anderson, Monica Benton;
grandchildren, Arnisha S. Hudson, Jamaal J. Anderson, Miranda N. Anderson, Michael
Benton, Zaylen Barnes, Dante Anderson, Brandon J. Anderson; great-grandchild, Wyatt
Eugene Hudson. He is also mourned by numerous friends and relatives who were
touched by his warm heart, gentle spirit, and genuine compassion.
We bid farewell to our beloved Eugene with heavy hearts but take comfort in the
memories we shared and the profound impact he had on our lives. May his soul find
eternal peace, and may we honor his memory by living our lives with the same love and
dedication he exemplified.
Forever in our hearts, Eugene Benton will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on
through the lives he touched and the love he bestowed upon us all.
