The battle is over and the victory is won for Gwendolyn Deloris
Whack Banks. On January 11th, 2017, our Beloved Gwendolyn slipped
away into the Loving Arms of the Father with family by her side at
Wake Medical Center, Raleigh, NC. Gwendolyn has received her
ultimate healing and for that God gets the praise and glory.
Gwendolyn was born February 19, 1959 at Wilson Memorial
Hospital. She was the daughter of Horace Whack and Mary Curry
Whack. Gwendolyn attended schools in Wilson and Johnson
County. She followed her passion in nursing and pursued a career as a
Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked with Preferred Home Care for
several years until her health declined. She attended worship services at
Walking By Faith Baptist Church. Until recently Gwen was unable to
attend; due to medical reasons. She continued to share the goodness of
God to family and friends as God amazing blessings of hope filled her
life. She was a fun loving person and was well known in her community
for cooking, giving, sharing and helping anyone she could.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Whack and
Eugene Foreman and two sisters, Annie Queen Whack and Sharon
Russell Artis. In addition to her parents her memories will be cherished
by husband Willie Banks of Durham, NC; her daughter, Roychelle
Williams of Lucama, NC and her son Charles Whack of Smithfield NC;
one brother Joseph Whack(Thowanda) of Greenville, NC; five
grandchildren, Darius(Ashley), Antigonay(Keytreal), Charles Jr.,
Cashmere, and Mar'Quel; two great-granddaughters, Dasanii and
Genesis; four nieces, Danielle(Kenneth), Jacqueline(John), Iyanna, and
Aryanna; five nephews, Adrian(Tameca), Rudolph(Shonda), Derrick,
Decarrus, Deondre(Morgan) and Alonte; two great-nieces Mariya and
Shameca; five great-nephews, Adrian Jr., Julian, Rashaun, Tysheem,
and Ryan; six special friends, Sandra Davis, Mellary Dambel, Linda
Mitchell, Emily Shoulars, Barbara Brown and Sandra Renee Pierce; A
host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
