Helen Mysliborski, 71, of Clayton NC passed away peacefully with her daughter Christina Barksdale, son in law Peter Barksdale and grandsons Robin Barksdale and Aldarius Parker by her side after a long battle fighting lung cancer on Friday, December 06, 2013, at the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield NC. She was born February 28, 1942 at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, New York to the late Helen Twardowski Hansen and Fredrick Herman Hansen Sr. of Southold, NY. She attended Greenport School. She is preceded by her husband Robert Myron Mysliborski on Sept. 17, 1986. After getting married, lived on Shelter Island New York for several years, was employed at Bob's Fish Market and later employed at Gardiner's Bay Country Club, also Mashomack Preserve, Nature Conservancy. A Jill of all trades. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. Was an avid fan of NASCAR, loved to fish, go camping, favorite past time was making afghans for all relatives and friends. Also a huge fan of Scotty McCreery, that she eventually got to see in person. She is survived by 3 children, Christina Bedell Barksdale, along with son in law Peter Barksdale, also of Clayton, NC, daughter, Joanne Bedell Biegert of Hampton Bays, NY., and John Henry Bedell Jr. of Shelter Island, NY. Five grandchildren, Michelle Vogel Rempe, Richard Arnold Vogel III, William Rafael Barksdale, Robin Leigh Valiente Barksdale, and Janelle Florence Biegert. Surviving siblings, Shirley Hansen Warner and Fredrick Herman Hansen Jr., both of Southold, NY. Her wonderful Aunt Mary Twardowski Domaradzki from N. Tonawanda, NY, whom she cherished dearly along with a ton of cousins, too many to name.
