Hilda Virginia Peacock, a native of Princeton, North Carolina, died July 22, 2018, in Baltimore Maryland. Her late parents were Percy and Clara Whitley Peacock. Her late husband was James Tomlinson who was born in Baltimore but has many relatives in Smithfield, North Carolina. Hilda had a passion for storytelling and acting. In college, she earned a B.S. Degree in Theater. One of her favorite parts in a play was portraying the life of Sadie Delaney whose father had served as president of St. Augustine's University. She was the author of four books for children. Her professional name for storytelling was Peacock Tale. Her survivors are : two grandchildren, Ashanti and Michael Tomlinson of Baltimore; two sisters, Carolyn Hatchett of Lacy, Washington and Myrtle Sanders of Smithfield, NC; a brother, Elton Ray (Ralph) Peacock of Decatur, Georgia.
