Obituary
Missionary Ida Mae Haynes was born March 21, 1943 in Benson, North Carolina. She departed this life and was called into her heavenly home on Thursday, May 28, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents Willis Andrew Peacock and Ida D. Walker Peacock.
Missionary Haynes attended Four Oaks Elementary School and graduated Forest Hills High School located in Four Oaks North Carolina. She attended Touro College where she pursued her career in Health Services. As a child, Missionary Haynes attended Small Chapel Holiness Church in Benson, North Carolina.
In 1961 Missionary Haynes relocated to New York City where she worked in a factory until she began her career in the health profession. Missionary Haynes enjoyed ministering to the needs of others as shown throughout the years in her service as a registered nurse aid. In 1963 she met her true love, the late Mack Haynes Sr. In 1971 the two wed and out of this holy union was born their two children Tawana and Mack Jr. She later went on to expand her family when she chose Reginald Hannah to be her son.
A few years after arriving in New York City she became a member of Garden of Prayer where Amelia Thompson was the Pastor. As the church continue to grow and transitions took place Missionary Haynes accepted Christ as her personal Savior. Missionary Haynes was ordained as a Missionary under the teaching and guidance of Overseer R. Young where she worked faithfully as President of the Usher Board. She traveled across the country ministering as a Private Nurse and Aid to the Overseer, and represented the New York Headquarters Church as Sunday School Superintendent and above all she was a mighty Prayer Warrior reaching
out to God during her 5 am prayer meetings. Missionary Haynes was known for her kind words and warm smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willis Andrew Peacock and Ida D. Walker Peacock. Her husband Mack Haynes Sr. and her sister Ruby Germany.
Left to cherish her memories, grieve her passing and celebrate her home-going are her three children: Tawana F. Mitchell of Raleigh NC, Mack Haynes Jr. of Charlotte NC, and Reginald Hannah of Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren Deyonne Mitchell, Kendrick Haynes, Shawnte' Haynes, Dashique Haynes and Demari Mitchell. One brother Willis "Buddy" (Pattie M.)Peacock, two sisters Patricia (Verdell) Warren and Agnes Summerson. Six God-children and a host of, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
