Mr. Jackie Williams, 67, of Smithfield, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2013 at Durham VA Hospital in Durham, NC
Jackie Williams the son of the late Roosevelt and Luezitia Williams was born January 28, 1946 in Johnston County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Durham VA Hospital. He attended Richard B. Harrison and graduated class of 65. He was drafted into the Army and fought in the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge.
He worked in construction with CC Magnum and Sam Chappell. He was a volunteer for Day by Bay Center and a van driver for the DAV. He was a member of Nacotis Anomus where he served in several positions.
He joined Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and served as an usher.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles Williams, Henry I. Williams and Timothy Williams.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories one sister: Mattie Richardson of Smithfield, NC; one sister-in-law Lavern Williams of Clayton, NC; four nephews, two nieces, seven great nephews, nine great nieces, two uncles: Sylvester Holder of Middlesex, Ranson Holder of Selma; five aunts: Gayzell Stancil and Sylvia Neal of Middlesex, NC, Mayzell Johnston of Portsmouth, VA, Laura Burgess of Washington, DC, and Lizzie Roberton of Smithfield, NC. A host of other loving relatives and friends.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know,
