James Arthur Godette

December 11, 1935 — January 7, 2019

Mr. William Robert Bryant the son of the late William Percy Bryant and the late Myrtle Lois Bryant was born in Johnston County on October 23, 1945. Our beloved brother departed this earth on January 11, 2019.
He joined Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Mr. Bryant was employed at the Dennis Block plant in Albemarle, NC. upon moving back home and becoming a share cropper with his father until his father's health declined. He then became employed at the Micro Slaughter House for 4 years then became employed with the Johnston County Landfill for 20 years upon retiring and continued to work there part time. William also became Trustee and the first Security personnel at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church until his health declined.
William was a happy and outgoing person. Always told jokes to bring laughter to a crowd. He always attended others' funerals whether it was family or a friend. He enjoyed fishing, boat riding, riding his Goldwing motorcycle, he definitely loved to eat, he loved his family and to wear his fine jewelry and cruising around in his Corvette.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his fiancé Wanda Pearce of the home; four sons, William Robert Bryant Jr of Princeton, NC, William Joyner of Princeton, NC, Fernando Pearce and Daniel Pearce of the home; three daughters, Cheviss Bennett Albemarle, NC , Ashley Edwards of Selma NC, and Lashon Creech of Smithfield, NC; six brothers, Sherman Davis of Columbus, Ohio, Percy Bryant of Princeton, NC, Linwood Bryant of Micro, NC, Ernest Bryant of Fayetteville, NC, Ronnie Bryant of Princeton, NC, and Milton Bryant of Princeton, NC; three sisters, Lissie Redd of Columbus, Ohio, Avallie Sellers of Raleigh, NC, and Merrion Bryant of Selma, NC; four sisters in law, Mattie Bryant of Fayetteville NC, Judy Bryant of Micro, NC, Unice Bryant of Princeton, NC and Carolyn Bryant of Princeton, NC, 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many many friends. He also leaves a very dear and close friend forever, Mr. Philmore Lilly and a very special thank you to Patricia Holt, who was his caregiver and friend of the family.
