James Mckinnon, Jr was born on March 17, 1932, in South Carolina to the late Lennal Dupree and James Mckinnon.
James grew up in South Carolina and relocated to North Carolina as a teenager. During his life, he worked and retired from Swift Textiles, formerly known as Erwin Mills, located in Erwin NC. James attended and became a member of the Benson Chapel Holiness Church. One of James's favorite things to do was go fishing. His favorite foods were chocolate cake, pizza, and chicken legs.
James leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Barbara McKinnon of Benson, NC; five daughters, Carolyn Kirkman of Benson, NC, Phyllis Jemmott of Washington, DC, Takisha Williams (Cornell Badgett) of Benson, NC, Belinda J. Campbell of Benson, NC, and Mary Campbell of Benson, NC; one son, Willie Campbell of Benson, NC; four brothers, David Dupree (Sarah) of Bennettsville, SC, Charles Dupree (Helen) of Bennettsville, SC, Moses Dupree (Denise) of Bennettsville, SC, and Cal Dupree (Mary) of Bennettsville, SC; two sisters, Aileen Brown of Knightdale, NC and Janie Brown of Washington, DC; one special son-in-law, Drelien Joseph of Coats, NC; ten grandkids and thirteen great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
