Jefferson Earl Whitfield entered rest on Friday, May 22, 2020, Kitty Atkins Hospice in Goldsboro, NC. He was proceeded in death by his two daughters, Valley Gray Whitfield, and Latasha Faison.
Jefferson was born on September 3, 1945, to Mary Lou Whitfield. He was the oldest of three children raised and attended school in Wayne County. He spent has a career working at Calypso Plywood, Pigford & Company, and retired at Georgia Pacific. Jefferson enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, and hunting.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Evangelist Nell Whitfield of Mt. Olive, NC; one child, Neal Faison of Dudley, NC; one brother, Robert Earl Whitfield of Goldsboro, NC; one sister, Kay Francis Hodges of Goldsboro, NC; along with 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
