Deacon Jimmy McClain, Sr. was born in Princeton, NC on March 11, 1944 to the late John Willie and Annie Maple McClain and passed away on September 8, 2018, at the age of 74.
He graduated from Richard B. Harrison High School. After graduation, he served honorably on Active Duty in the US Army as a Military Policeman and was discharged in 1967. After returning to Johnston County, Jimmy worked for Sylvania, the US Postal Service for over 30 years, and the Johnston County Sheriff's Department.
Jimmy was an active member of Giles Chapel OFWB Church where he served as the Adult Sunday School teacher and the Original Free Will Baptist Churches of America, Middle Eastern District where he served as the President of the Deacons' Council.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Frances (Nee Sutton); three sons, Jimmy, Jr., Gregory Foye, and Anthony Foye; six grandchildren, Deloria, Raven Thibodeaux, LaQuittia Thomas, Alantah Foye, Jayla Foye, and Nevaeh Foye; three great-grandchildren, DeOvion Fluker, DeOndrhias, and Ja'Lioya Brown; three brothers, Nester, Willie, Jr., and Thurman (Mary); six sisters, Jacqueline Lewis, Brenda Perry, Linda Sanders (Ronald), Elsie McClain, Patricia Shaw (Robert), and Cecelia Weaver; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
