Mr. Jimmy Wayne Poston was born on April 2, 1955, in Wayne County, NC to Billy Ray Poston and Barbara Poston. He departed this life on January 31, 2020.

Jimmy's nickname was "5 Gallon." Jimmy attended Johnston County Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army. After returning home, he drove for various companies including Pepsi and Gas Companies. Also, Jimmy worked with his brother-in-law, Samuel Holder. Jimmy married his wife Louise Poston and they were married for over 48 years. Jimmy loved driving his race cars and playing numbers.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray Poston and Barbara Poston.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Louise Poston of the home; one son, Tony Poston; three, daughters, Tomeika Williams (Travis) and Darlene Holder (Timothy) both of Selma, NC and Charlene Chelsea of Baltimore, MD; two granddaughters, Destiny Williams of Clayton, NC and Brittany (Maurice) West of Charlotte, NC; one grandson, Timothy Gray, Jr of Selma, NC; two great grand, Aaliya, and Daniyah West of Charlotte, NC; brother, Billy Poston, Jr. of Clayton, NC; three sisters-in-law, Irene McCullers of Wendell, NC, Eula Ethridge ( Warren) of Clayton, NC and Mary Holder of Zebulon, NC; three brother-in-laws, Donnie Holder (Mary) of Selma, NC, Wilbert Holder ( Mary) of Zebulon and Russell Holder of Selma, NC; his uncle, Charles Poston; four aunts, Pearl Sanders, Margarete Poston, Juanita Poston, and Argie Poston Duff; one special brother, Moses Poston (who was raised by Jimmy's parents) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
