John Q. King

John King was born to the late Ellen and Wash King on Oct. 21st 1931. He departed his earthly life on Oct. 8th 2010 in Philadelphia PA. He received Christ at an early age. He was married to the late Ella Lee King; to this union six children were born. Three girls; Geneva, Ella Mae (Clarence) and Dorothy, all of Sumter SC. Two sons; Lawrence of Philadelphia PA and Bobby of Sumter SC. One child preceded him in death; he also had four sisters; Mary of Philadelphia PA, Estell (Jasper) of Dalzell SC, Peggy (Elijah), Mayola (Rick); Two brothers, Jimmy and Wallace (Margaret) all of Philadelphia PA. One sister and two brothers preceded him in death. He was the grandfather of six, and he also had one sister in law; Lillie Govan of Sumter SC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
The funeral services will be held on Sunday October 17th 2010 at Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church 705 OSWEGO Hwy Sumter SC.
The family will receive friends at the homes of: Dorothy King 105 Carolina Ave, Sumter SC and his Niece, Tonya Mack-Canty of 4365 Layneward Ct, Dalzell SC
