The Obituary La'Kaya ( Kaya) Samuels came into this world on February 28, 1979 to Sallie McCray and Teddy Samuels in Paterson, New Jersey. She lived in many places, but she called North Carolina her home. Kaya was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend one of just a few roles she had on earth. But there was nothing Kaya enjoyed more in life than her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and a passion for driving. La'Kaya passed away on November 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was greeted in heaven by her grandmothers Alberta Madear Richardson and Evelyn Cushnie and stepfather Willie McCray. La'Kaya leaves behind her mother Sallie McCray and her father Teddy Samuels, 4 brothers, Ashante, Nashon, Quashon, and Te'ras, and 2 sisters Tyrhonda and Shaquanda. 16 nieces and nephews. 3 aunts Barbara Eason, Minnie Marîn, and Imogene Livingston. 3 uncles Johnnie Short, Arthur Wadley, and Harry Livingston, and a host of cousins and friends. La'Kaya will be loved in Heaven as much as she was on earth. She will be tremendously missed by her family and friends. She can now drive in heaven for eternity. La'Kaya has gained the *real role of being our Guardian Angel
