Leon Turner

Leon Turner, Jr. was born on March 2, 1937 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Leon Turner and Beatrice Washington Turner. He departed this earthly life on March 2, 2018.
After graduating from High School, Leon joined the U.S. Army. Leon's 23 years of service was honored by numerous of awards. He received the Bronze Star for Heroism in Vietnam, The National Defense Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Award, and served two tours in Vietnam.
Leon decided after the war to continue his education at Rutledge University where he received a degree in Finance. Leon met and married Dorothy Jean Murphy in 1977. He was a General manager Puralator Oil for 4 years and he also was a Quality Control Manager at Jensen Co in Lumberton, NC.
He leaves to cherish his memories with: his loving wife, Dorothy Turner of the home; three sons, Duane, Robert (Cierra) of Smithfield, NC, and Leon lll (Sherrie) of Fayetteville, NC; three grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; a special uncle, Benjamin Bunch; and a host of other relative and friends.
