Leroy Walker was born on February 14, 1950 to James and Marie Walker in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, March 10, 2017. Leroy was a resident of Washington, D.C.
Leroy graduated from Dunbar Sr. High School and later went on to serve in the Army. He became a Vietnam VET. Leroy took much pride serving and working at the Smithsonian Institute. Many people said that he was the "sunshine of their day." Leroy was never caught without a smile and loved to sing throughout the halls. If you needed someone to talk to, Leroy was the one that you could depend on and he could hold on for hours during long conversations about any and everything.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Marie Walker; two sons, Leroy Walker Jr. and Jeremy Lynch; three daughters, DeAnna Walker, Felicia Walker, and Melinda Lynch; longtime friend, Virginia Lynch; five grandchildren, two boys and three girls; and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
