To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the
Heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to be
plucked up that which is planted …" Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
(An angel) Mrs. Lillie Mae Williams, the daughter of
Thad and Esther Atkinson (deceased), was born September 1,
1920 in Bentonville, NC. In God's will she answered that last
call on June 25, 2017 at Johnston Medical Health Center in
Smithfield, NC.
In the year of 1944, God united in holy matrimony
Aaron Williams and Lillie Atkinson and blessed this union with
four daughters and four sons: Aaron Williams Jr. (Raleigh, NC);
Robert Williams (deceased); Donnie (Gwen) Williams (Clayton,
NC) Andrew (Lisa) Williams (Clayton, NC); Lena M. Williams
(Smithfield, NC); Margaret Williams (Selma, NC); Annie M.
Williams (Clayton, NC) and Mary Williams (Clayton, NC).
Lillie Mae Williams was a hard worker and she raised
all of her children and she was instrumental in helping to raise
her grandchildren. Lillie and her husband had a small farm and
she quit school to raise her children and help her husband to
help make ends meet. She was well known by her friends and
she would do anything that she could for anyone. She had a
good heart and will be remembered fondly by many and always
held in their heart so that we don't have to be apart.
Lillie was predeceased in death by her parents, her
husband, Aaron Williams, Jr., her son, Robert Williams, her
sisters, Elene Williams; Corene Wilson, and four brothers,
Eddie Atkinson, Wilbert Atkinson, Ned Atkinson, and Willie
Atkinson, two deceased grandsons, Donnie Phelps and Gary
Williams. She is survived by her children: Aaron, Donnie
(Gwen), Andrew (Lisa), Lena, Margaret, Annie and Mary; her
sister, Pauline (Willie) of Raleigh, NC; her brother, John Abram
Atkinson of New York; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Cathy,
Gina, Jeffrey, Quantae, Linwood, Denise, Katina and three great
grandchildren, Kiwana, Aylhia, and Jontae.
