Mamie Lee Jones Taylor

On August 8, 1929, Mamie Lee Jones Taylor was
born to the late Llewellyn Jones and Bessie King Jones in
Craven County, North Carolina. She was called to eternal
rest on Friday, February 17, 2017 in Smithfield, NC.
Mamie was educated in the Craven County School
System and later joined Start of Zion Missionary Baptist
Church.
Mamie was united in holy matrimony to Ernest
"Ike" Taylor who preceded her in death.
Mamie was employed for most of her career in the
food industry and later retired from service at the Craven
County Jail System as a nutritional specialist.
She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her
legacy, three sons, Ronald Taylor (Martha) of Dalzell, SC,
Wayne Taylor (Barbara), and Leonard Taylor both of
New Bern, NC; one daughter, Fawn Taylor Watson
(Roger) of Smithfield, NC; two sisters, Carolyn Freeman
(Eddie) of Jacksonville, NC and Deloris Nelson(Larry) of
Maysville, NC; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 6
Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, other relatives, and friends.
