On Mother's Day, May 14, 2023, Margaret Lynn Wall completed her purpose on this earth and was called home at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. Margaret Lynn Wall, 81, was born to the late June Lynn and Mary Frances Royal Everette on April 25, 1942, in Johnston County, North Carolina.
She attended Short Journey Elementary School and Johnston County Training School in Smithfield, NC. She was employed by Fieldcrest in Smithfield, NC until it closed. Margaret later became a surrogate mother for many. She attended St. John AME Church in Wilson Mills, NC. Margaret was an Alumna of Johnston Central School, a bingo runner, a bingo caller, and a trip coordinator, and she orchestrated many fundraisers to benefit the community. She worked alongside many public personalities including Ricky C of Clayton, NC, and Gilbert Baez of WRAL TV. Margaret was well known for her achievements in the community and recognized by many political and public leaders in Johnston County. Margaret loved fishing, cooking, playing bingo, and spending time with her family and friends. Margaret was an encouragement to everyone that she met.
Margaret was preceded in death by her longtime companion; Donnie Staton; her beloved son-in-love, Clyde Ward, Jr.; son, Tony Wall; brothers, Percy Lynn, Willie (Pete) Lynn, and Howard Williams; great-grandson, Jah' lil Ward.
Margaret leaves to cherish her precious memories; daughters, Patricia Wall Ward of the home and Carla Wall Ellis of Clayton, NC; siblings, Helen Bagley (Herman) of Smithfield, NC, Nellie Bradley (William) of Smithfield, NC, Mary Maronero of Smithfield, NC, Alice Faulk (Marvin) of Clayton, NC, Tim Everette (Erica) of Angier, NC, Connie Everette of Smithfield, NC, and Zadok McKoy of Clayton, NC; grandchildren, Ronnie Smith, and Clyde Ward III of the home, Dominique Smalls (Terrell) of Clayton, NC, KiShawn Williams (Thomas) of Smithfield, NC; aunt, Annie Lynn of Cleveland, NC; sisters-in-law, Maxine Lynn of Smithfield, NC, Mary Elizabeth Lynn, of Cleveland, NC, Brenda Lynn of Smithfield, NC, Joyce Yvonne Fisher (Kilmer) of New Bern, NC; bonus children, Attorney Robinson Williams (Meagan) of Smithfield, NC, Luke Williams of Texas, Camille Wright of Smithfield, NC. Margaret also leaves behind twelve great-grandchildren, two special friends, Walter Griffin of Smithfield, NC, and Mary Lloyd of Four Oaks, NC, and a host of relatives and friends.
