Marvin Ralph Richardson

Marvin Ralph Richardson, Sr., son of the late Hardy Lester Richardson, Sr. and Sadie Mae Lewis Richardson was born May 14, 1951 in Johnston County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Thursday morning, January 25, 2018 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, NC.
He joined the Armed Services in December 30, 1976 and his separation date was May 24, 1989 after serving 13 years in the Army. He received three Army Ribbons, Four Service Medals, One Oak Leaf Cluster and one badge. He completed his education as a Computer Programmer and completed an Automotive Transmission Course. He served as a Hawk Missile Crew Member for 12 years, 5 months and was involved in Primary Leadership Development.
He was united in marriage to Helen Jones Richardson on July 1, 2016. Marvin leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Helen Jones Richardson; one daughter, Alicia Renee Richardson (Mandy); one son, Marvin Ralph Richardson, Jr. of Smithfield, NC; one stepson, Antwan Jones of Washington, DC; one granddaughter, Asia Jana Edmonds; two grandsons, Alvin Edmonds and Jamori Richardson; three brothers, Hardy Lester Richardson, Jr. (Hazel) of Zebulon, NC, Tyrone DeCosta Richardson (Willie Mae) of Selma, NC, Eugene Perry Richardson, Sr. of Smithfield, NC; two sisters, Janice Faye Richardson Meeks (Eddie) of Selma, NC and Rosa Mae Richardson of New York; three brothers-in-law, Sherman Jones of Smithfield, Curtis Jones of Selma, NC and Murdock Jones (Sivonna) of Fayetteville, NC; one sister-in-law, Odessa Surles of Kenly, NC. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends will miss him dearly.
