Mary Lou Anderson was born on November 4, 1949, to the late George L. Gulley and Lina B. Gulley in Johnson County and entered eternal life on February 11, 2021.
Mary attended Four Oaks Elementary School and Forest Hill High School. She had a desire and passion to work and care for the elderly. She began her career with Autumn Wind Assisted Living as a Nurse Aide, the love for her job led her to receive a license as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Meadow View Assisted Living where she worked until her health began to fail.
Mary was a devoted, wife and mother. She joined Strickland Grove Missionary Church at an early age. She served as President of the Choir, Member of Hospitality, Culinary, Trustee Board, and Food Pantry.
Mary was preceded in death by her Husband Henry Anderson and brother Isiah Smith.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter Angie Smith, Her cherished grandson Quin Chestnut and great-grandson, Robert Watson. She leaves to cherish her fond memories of four sisters Betty Flores of Smithfield, NC. Lina G. Cox (Wayne) Selma, NC. Hazel Gulley and Elizabeth Schellingberger (Paul) of Clayton, NC. Brother George L. Gulley of Fayetteville, NC. Aunt Eloise Gulley of Garner, NC. and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
Sometimes it's hard to understand why certain things must be,
but there is a reason for everything, beyond our power to see,
God saw that she was suffering, her weary hours, her weary nights are now past.
Her ever-patient worn-out frame had found sweet rest at last.
For we know she is Shouting and Singing in the Heavenly Choir.
