Mary Baker O'Neal

Mary ( affectionally know as Sally Gal or Sally G) was born April 6, 1948, in Selma, NC to Walter and Tine O'Neal ( Stevens). Mary age 71, passed away from complications from cancer on October 22, 2019, at Chesapeake Regional Hospital, surrounded by family. Mary was Raised by grandmother Mary Hasting and her Aunt Ethelle In North Carolina. Mary was a fun-loving adventurous woman who gave all of herself to the ones she Loved. Even though her life journey started in North Carolina it didn't stay there. Over the years she would travel and live in many places including North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey and finally settling in Virginia. Mary, which no one called her, but instead elected to call her, Sally, Sally G or Sally Gal depending on what state you were from. Sally was a Strong, Hardworking, multi-talented woman with a quick wit and an Enormous Heart, a true Super Woman. She loved to Party and Have Fun, spend time with loved ones and Most importantly Feeds People (cooking). Sally had many jobs and Adventures in her life that was always centered around taking care of others while having fun; from working in hospitals like Willowbrook State School, doing private health care, giving out "Old Remedies" to make you feel better or just talking with you on the phone for hours. She ran Juke Joints, was a member of motorcycle & Van clubs and even drove tractor-trailers. Sally Leaves a legacy of great memories wrapped in LOVE. She won over everyone with her smile, laugh and extortionary ability to cook you a GREAT meal. For the last 16 years, she has lived in Chesapeake Virginia enjoying time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded by Husband Jimmy Stowe, brothers Walter O'Neal II and Lester O'Neal
Surviving to cherish her memories: fiancé, Lee Haskins (VA); Gladys Corbett (James) NJ; Brother, Peter O'Neal ( Beverly Fraizer) MD, Walter O'Neal (MD), Donnie O'Neal (MD), Douglas O'Neal (MD), June Bradley (MD); children, Doral Robinson (NJ), Terry Haskins (Tara), ( NC), Latonya Brinson (Adrian) (VA), Timothy O'Neal, Angelina Artis (David) (VA), Thomas Weaver (Sarah) VA; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of adopted children, nieces, nephews, cousins and family.
