Mattie Estelle Bristow Duff

On Sunday, April 8 at 1:47 am, Mattie Estell Bristow Duff, age 87, passed away at SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health in Smithfield, NC. She was born on December 1, 1931 to the late George and Anna Bristow in Hartsville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Duff and special friend, Celester Gibson. Mattie enjoyed cooking and attending weekend gatherings with family and friends. She attended Deliverance International Church in Angier, NC. Mattie enjoyed riding shotgun in nothing but hogs (Cadillacs). Mattie was blessed by God to have lived a long life. She was preceded in death by the following additional loved ones: 21 siblings; her daughters, Meada Gray and Sheila Sanders; her great, great, great, grandchildren, Kiona Vanderbilt and Jalia Ward Oshea (Gudda Bean) Mattie leaves to cherish her loving memories: four sons, George Bristow (Audrey) of Selma, NC, Edward Duff of Copley, Ohio, Toby Duff of Benson, NC and Terrell Duff (Traci) of Princeton, NC; three daughters, Dorthy Perry of Selma, NC, Shenise Robinson (Hayes) of Benson, NC, and Tisha Duff of Smithfield, NC; 21 grandchildren, 72 great great grandchildren, 22 great great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and two loving best friends, Margie Cole and Faye Liles.
