On June 11, 2020, Merry D. Hines peacefully succumbed to a short illness at
her home and is now at eternal rest.
Merry was born on February 13, 1963, in Wake County, NC. She was the daughter
of the late Pennell and Annie T. Davis.
Mary attended Johnston County Public Schools and graduated in June 1981. She
attended North Carolina Central University and Nursing School. She began her career
working in Home Health, Nursing Homes, and retired from Rex Hospital as her health
began to decline.
Merry joined Johnston Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
Later she moved her membership to New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.
Merry was preceded in death by two brothers, Frankie and Brian Davis and her
grandparents, Alex (Mable) Tomlinson and Pennison (Merry) Davis.
Merry was a fun, loving, and warm-hearted individual who bought joy and
laughter into many lives.
Merry leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Monisha (Keyone) Wilkins
of the home; her son, Michael Hines of the home; one grandson, Jaydon Hines of the
home; three sisters, Joyce Payne of Clayton, NC, Peggy Cozart (Elmo) of Seattle, WA,
and Deborah Davis of Clayton, NC; one brother, Maurice Davis of Clayton, NC; one
aunt, Lina Moore of Clayton, NC; two uncles, Donzo (Doris) Tomlinson of Hamlet, NC
and George (Bessie) Tomlinson of Clayton, NC; adopted sister, Mary Lane and a host
of nieces, nephews,
