Milton Charles Rider, of Newton Grove, North Carolina, died Sunday, July 19th, in Johnston UNC Health Care facility, in Smithfield, North Carolina. He was born on October 20, 1952, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Milton was known for his music and artistic abilities. He was an advanced guitarist and could play the keyboard as well. He loved to draw and paint landscaping. His career was in masonry, and he continued building special projects after retirement. His friends and neighbors knew him to take meticulous care of his lawn.
Milton is survived by three brothers, Jerry, Brian, and Scott Rider; two sisters, Nancy Rider and Kim Rider (Goodman); two daughters, Heather West and Addie Woodruff; four grandchildren, Sidney West, Sterling Haile, Sophia West, and Madden West; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Rider and Mary Jacquelyn (Judy) Shadix, and one brother, Rick Rider.
His ashes are in his home state of Oklahoma, to be buried with family.
