Mollie Ann (Hercules) Jones was born November 6, 1942, to the late Junius and Viola Williams of Benson, NC. She transitioned from life on November 3, 2022, at Clayton House Memory Care, Clayton, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Benjamin T. Jones.
Mollie lived in the Cleveland Community her entire life, serving as the neighborhood babysitter, cook, and hairdresser. She was always willing to lend a hand, as no task was ever too great. However, she didn't get a handle on twinkling those ivoriesâ her bifocals wouldn't cooperate. She attended school in Johnston and Wake Counties. She became a member of Willows Springs FWB Church, also located in the Cleveland area.
She gained a lot of talent during her working years. She cleaned houses and offices, meticulously. Her mackerel cakes were always good and she was well known for her baked banana pudding. She was known for heavily creasing her clothes and looking sharp all while being able to change a tire at record speed! She lived up to her nickname, Hercules!
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, LaMarshel Y. (Kookie) McPherson (Willie Ervin); granddaughter, Lonnda N. Williams; great-grandchildren, Bryan C. Dailey, William N. Dailey, and Maxwyll D. McCloud; sister Mildred W. Burtch (Raylon); sister Nellie (Louise) Sanders (Sam) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Russell, David, Donzell, Billie, Purcell, Pearl, and Iola.
She also leaves to cherish her memories three special sisters-in-law: Rosa Wright, Bettie Davis, Ethel Mae Jones
