Ophelia A. Robinson

September 27, 1942 — August 7, 2024

Clayton, NC

Ophelia A Jackson Robinson affectionately known as “Phea”, passed away on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at Clayton Rehabilitation and Health Center in Clayton North Carolina.

Ophelia was born on Sunday, September 27, 1942, at Harlem Hospital. She was the first of two daughters of Lydia B. and Ohanele Jackson who preceded her in death. Ophelia had one sister Vivian Felder who also preceded her in death.

She grew up in Brooklyn, NY where she attended Boys & Girls High School.

Constantly seeking balance & harmony, “Phea” had Amazing Big Plans! Ophelia was filled with personality. She was cozy, friendly and could make any stranger feel comfortable. Her personality housed charm, frankness and intelligence.

As a young adult she met and wed her beloved husband Alphonso Eugene Robinson. To their union they raised three children in Queens, New York.

She was blessed with impeccable personal style and a well decorated home. Ophelia was never shy to try something new because she knew nothing was permanent. Ophelia had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She enjoyed planting flowers, playing BINGO, going on cruises, taking trips with the Seniors on the Move, and spending time with her great- grandchildren. She was extremely creative. Her eyes saw colored combinations & patterns which crafted colorful cozy gifts in the form of beautiful knitted hats, scarves, and blankets.

Ophelia was preceded in death by her husband Gene Robinson and leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter Lydia, of New York, NY ; two sons, Alphonso and Darrain (Teresa), of Smithfield NC. , four grandchildren: Mari, DeAntonio, Darrain and Darrin and two great- grandchildren Sali and Sebi (as she lovingly called Sweet Baby and Honey Bunch), and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Ophelia, you lived a life looking at your favorite color. We shall Always remember you as we look up at the Amazing Blue Sky!
