Randall Hein, 65, died Friday, April 04, 2014 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC
Randall V. Hein, formerly of Davenport, died April 3, 2014 in North Carolina. He was sixty five years old. Randy was born July 19, 1948 to the late Victor and Virginia Weets Hein of Lowden, Iowa. He graduated from Lowden High School and subsequently served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Randy received a degree in criminal justice from St. Ambrose College and was employed by the Scott County Sheriff's Department while simultaneously serving in the Army Reserve. Upon leaving the Quad City area, Randy worked as a civilian peacekeeper in Bosnia. When he returned to the U.S. he settled in North Carolina and worked for the Durham Police Department.
Randy is survived by his son Sean Hein and his wife Michelle and their two daughters in Clayton, NC, his daughter Heather Hein in Chicago, and his sister Candace Hein and her husband John Holtz and their three children in Los Angeles, CA.
