Ray Parker, Sr was born in Sampson County, NC on January 19, 1956 to the late Mable Louise Jones of Newton Grove and the late Robert Lee Jones of Sampson County. Ray graduated in 1974 from Hobbton High School in Newton Grove, NC. In 1975, he married the late Judy Faye O'Neal Parker in Dillon, SC. Ray worked at K.R. Edwards for over a decade and became a manager for his hard work. Ray became known as one of the hardest working men of Johnston County over the next 20-25 years. He didn't have good transportation to and from work. As a result, he did what worked best for him for years. He walked or rode bicycles for the most part whether it was through rain, sleet or snow. It did not matter at all about the weather conditions. After all, he was called to provide shelter, food and protection for his family. Ray accomplished that to the best of his knowledge and ability. Ray publicly confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on September 6, 2020 at the Jehovah Jireh Christian Center and became a member of the church and more importantly a born again believer in the Kingdom Of God. He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Carnellia O'Neal of Atkinson, NC, Lakesha Parker of Selma, NC and Wendy Parker of Selma, NC; two sons, Trazonda (Trap) Parker of Selma, NC and Ray Parker, Jr of Selma, NC; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Parker of Fort Washington, NY and Josephine Parker of Clinton, NC and a host of uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.
