On December 22, 1968, the late Jesse Thomas and Catherine Edwards Williams welcomed their eighth and last offspring, Renee Michelle Williams. Of course, she was the major Christmas gift that year.
Renee grew up in the Central Heights community in Goldsboro, NC. She attended Wayne County Schools, graduating from Eastern Wayne High School with the class of 1988. Renee furthered her education at Wayne Community College, obtaining certification, and working in the surrounding cities as a CNA for many years.
Renee developed a love for music and loved to sing. Her early years were spent worshiping at Central Heights United Holy Church where she was a faithful member of the choir. There were attempts to involve her in the drama ministry when she was very young, but she was too energetic to run lines or role play.
Renee was a talented baker. She was known for, and took much pride in, her German Chocolate and Carrot cakes. Requests for cakes came from family and friends.
Renee's love for children has been evident throughout her adult life. She has adopted many as her own, helping the parents by providing for their child's needs, be it clothes, toys, transportation, babysitting, whatever. She was definitely a giver and took pride in helping; it brought joy and fulfillment to her life.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers, Charles Thomas Williams and Michael Williams. She is survived by three brothers, Jimmie L. Williams of Las Vegas, NV, James E Williams(Carolyn) of Brookeville., and Lynwood Ray Williams(Sachiko) of Hayama, Japan; two sisters, Reverend Lillian Lewis of Greensboro, NC, and Joyce Ann Campbell(Steven) of High Point, NC; and a sister-in-law Denise Williams of Laurel, MD; two special aunts, Rosie Edwards of Chicago, IL, and Bessie Edwards of Kinston, NC; thirty-nine nieces and nephews, her special godchildren, a host of other relatives and friends, including her friend indeed, Linwood Earl Williams of Smithfield, NC
