Rosa Lee Everette Marbly was born in Johnston County in 1929 and lived in Smithfield, NC. She was one of nine siblings. Her early childhood education was at Johnston County Training School. When her mother passed away during her teenage years, she moved to Sampson County with her sister and helped as a caregiver for her sister's children. After the death of her sister, she moved back to Johnston County and lived with her brother and became the caregiver for his children. She married the late Thomas Marbly and had two sons: the late James and Allen Everette. She enjoyed her work and retired from Fieldcrest in Smithfield. Rosa loved her family and looked forward to annual family reunions for which she spent several days preparing. She loved cooking for her family and having pretty bedspreads. Rosa loved people and talking to them. Planting and caring for flowers was her favorite pastime. She was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Peter Church of Christ, D.O.C. and loved her pastor, Bishop R.W. Johnson dearly. One of her favorite hymns was "Where Would I Be Without the Lord on My Side?" Rosa is preceded in death by her two sons, Allen Everette and James Louis Everette Jr.; three brothers, John Everette, Theodore Everette and Levi Everette; and one sister Lillie Dublin. She leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Geraldine Sanders, Five grandchildren, Anthony Darden (LeVada); Dijona Everette; Alicia George; Ian Smith; Al-Tereek Coleman.
